Wednesday Night Fellowship and Study Programs for adults are held each week on ZOOM. Fellowship…
Troop 400 was chartered in 1911. St. James’s has been the Troop’s sponsor since 2016. The Troop’s program features the outdoor experience. It schedules two-night campouts (they’re called “hikes”) every month from September through May and a week of camping in early summer at Camp T. Brady Saunders, the Boy Scout reservation in Goochland County. It also emphasizes advancement of its Scouts, and has awarded the rank of Eagle Scout to hundreds of boys over its existence. The Troop meets once or twice a month, except for the summer months, at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Michaux House. Tony Smith has been Scoutmaster since 1984.
The Troop invites all St. James’s parish fathers of sons who are at least 11 years old or who will be11 in September, and their sons, to join us as our guests on our annual Father-Son Hike, which will be held May 18-20 at Old Town Farm in King William County. Old Town Farm contains a lake full of hungry fish with a mile-long shoreline, so all campers will have a waterfront lot. You will need only a tent and bedding; the Troop will provide all food. You can join us for as long as you like, but if you can’t be there for the full hike, don’t miss Saturday dinner!
If you would like to attend, please RSVP Jim Featherstone (353-9760 email firstname.lastname@example.org) not later than Wednesday, May 16, with the number in your party and your email address. You’ll receive driving directions to Old Town Farm, the Hike program, and the complete Hike rules, regulations, bulls and decrees.
