St. Cecilia’s Day Concert for Britten’s 100th

A St. Cecilia Day Concert celebrating the Patron Saint of Musicians
and Centennial of the Birth of Benjamin Britten

Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) was the finest composer of choral and vocal music of the 20th century. He was born on November 22—the Feast Day of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians. This November 22 the Choirs of St. James’s will join musicians and music-lovers around the world to celebrate the music of Britten.

Our Children’s Choir will sing Britten’s Friday Afternoons at our concert which takes place on the Friday evening of November 22. They will join thousands of children’s choir around the world will to sing these wonderful songs.

In addition to Friday Afternoons, we will sing Rejoice in the Lamb, Te Deum in C, selections from A Ceremony of Carols, Hymn to St. Cecilia, Hymn to the Virgin, and Jubilate Deo in C
